Motorists heading into Newport are facing significant delays this morning, with queues stretching for around four miles following the closure of Fairlee Road.

Drainage works on Fairlee Road are expected to cause disruption for motorists and residents, with the route set to close for up to 11 days.

Fairlee Road will be closed as a through route from Monday 20 April to Friday 1 May while new water and sewerage connection works are carried out.

A teenager has been seriously injured following a collision involving a car on Fairless Road in the early hours of this morning.

Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, where the motorcyclist was left injured in the road following the crash.
