Council leaders across the Hampshire region have issued a joint statement after the Government announced plans to delay the first mayoral election until 2028.

A 44-year-old Island care worker has spoken out following the sentencing of a dog attack case — calling for tougher action against irresponsible dog owners.

Outline permission has been granted for 12 homes on the outskirts of Newport, while two other planning appeals on the Isle of Wight have been dismissed.
