The Isle of Wight is set for a cloudy end to Wednesday before sunshine makes a welcome return on Thursday, bringing another very warm summer's day.
Clear spells this evening will gradually give way to increasing cloud overnight, with a little patchy light rain or drizzle possible by dawn.
Overnight temperatures will remain mild at 15°C to 17°C, while west to southwesterly winds strengthen to 25mph by first light.
Any rain will be short-lived, with Thursday starting on a cloudy note before brighter conditions quickly develop through the morning.
By mid-morning, the cloud is expected to clear, leaving wall-to-wall sunshine for the rest of the day.
Temperatures will climb to between 25°C and 27°C across much of the Island, although coastal areas in the south and west are likely to remain a little cooler at around 21°C thanks to the breeze.
Winds will initially be moderate to fresh from the west-southwest before easing and turning northwesterly later in the day, making for pleasant conditions as the sunshine continues into the afternoon.
