Wightlink has celebrated 100 years of its Portsmouth to Fishbourne ferry service, marking a major milestone for one of the Isle of Wight’s key transport links.

Passengers travelling between the Isle of Wight and the mainland are being warned of cancellations on the Portsmouth–Fishbourne route tomorrow.

Sailings between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight have been cancelled this afternoon following a berthing incident.

As part of its scheduled programme, the maintenance is expected to affect services for the next few days.

The port has been evacuated and closed to all access, and Gunwharf Road has also been closed while police and emergency services respond.
