Witness Appeal As Pedestrians In Their 80s Seriously Injured In Newport

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by police after two elderly pedestrians were seriously injured in Newport.

Police were called to Church Litten around 11.45am on Friday (27), to a report of a collision involving a van and two pedestrians.

The pedestrians, a man and woman both in their 80s from Newport, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A police spokesperson said:

“Officers investigating the exact circumstances of the collision are keen to speak with anyone who may be able to assist our enquiries.

“If you were in the area at the time, or in particular if you have dash cam or any other footage of the incident, then you should call 101, quoting the reference 44230036107.”
