Appeal Launched Following Ryde Cashpoint Theft

Police have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to following a theft at a cashpoint on the Isle of Wight.

Between 4.30pm and 4.40pm on 15 March, a man in his 60s attempted to withdraw cash from the cashpoint outside the Tesco Express in Rectory Drive, Wootton Bridge, Ryde.

When the man walked away, assuming the machine was not working, a younger man walked over and took the £250 cash the older man had attempted to withdraw and walked away before leaving in a white flat bed truck.

Following this incident police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man in this photo.

He is described as aged 18-28, about 5ft 9in tall, white, medium build, dark brown hair, with a thin brown beard.

He was wearing black trainers, grey work trousers with an orange stripe down the legs, a dark blue hoodie and a black body warmer.

If you recognise this man or have any information regarding the incident, please call 101 quoting reference 44240147162
