Wet Leg have secured yet another high-profile gong, in recognition of a remarkable 13 months since the release of their debut album.

The Isle of Wight musicians won the Songwriter of the Year Award with Amazon Music at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards.

A ceremony was held last night (Thursday) at Grosvenor House in London.

Fronted by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, Wet Leg’s debut album took the music industry by storm on its release last year, topping the charts and spawning the hit singles ‘Wet Dream’ and ‘Chaise Longue’.

'The Ivors' judges described the band's writing as 'fresh, unapologetic and direct, with surprising melodies that demand attention.'
