Vandalism of disabled toilets in Shanklin has been slammed by the town's former mayor.

Pictures show a grab rail in the public loo, at Falcon Cross, has been pulled from the wall. Costly damage has also been done to the door.

Jon Gilbey, the town's former mayor and an ex-councillor, has said he has CCTV footage of the alleged incident. He suspects four teenagers to be involved.

He says video evidence has been passed onto the police.

"Do you know what your little angels are up to right now?", he asked.

"It's pretty obvious to parents who they are so expect a bill for the damage.

"I’ve just got three names already, this type of behaviour needs to be dealt with."

The toilets, off Landguard Road, are run by Shanklin Town Council.
