Two people have been injured after a car was said to have been driven at them in Newport.
Police were called to South Street at 2.40am this morning (Thursday) to reports of an assault.
A man and woman, both aged in their 20s, suffered ankle injuries in the incident.
Police said they believe that all parties involved are known to one another, and enquiries remain ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
A cordon remains in place today, with officers guarding the scene near TK Maxx.
