Two Men Due In Court Following Cooking Oil Theft From Island Businesses

Two men are due in court following an investigation into the theft of cooking oil from businesses on the Isle of Wight.

Simeon Iliev, aged 20, of Hertford Road in Enfield, and 45-year-old Milan Stankov of Kirkland Drive in Enfield, have been issued a summons to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October).

They will both face the following charges:

  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Fighting Cocks pub on 28 October 2022.
  • Attempted theft of used cooking oil from The Chequers Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from the Culver Haven Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Yarbridge Inn on 28 October 2022.
  • Theft of used cooking oil from The Duck in Ryde on 28 October 2022.
  • 5 counts of fraud by false representation in which it’s alleged that they dishonestly purported to represent official oil collection agents in order to obtain the oil.
