Temperatures Could Drop As Low As -8.C Tonight

Temperatures in some parts of the Isle of Wight could drop as low as -8.C tonight (Thursday).

As the cold spell of weather continues, the IW Met Service is predicting another night of freezing cold temperatures and widespread frost.

There is also the likeliness of freezing fog blanketing the Island.

The IW Met Service forecast is as follows:

Tonight (Thursday)

  • A clear but very cold night ahead with a severe frost along with freezing fog patches in some parts.
  • Temperature -3.C to -5.C widely, but as low as -.°C in a few low lying rural parts.
  • Wind north 5-11mph in more exposed parts but 0-5mph inland.

Tomorrow (Friday)

  • A very cold start to the day with widespread ice and frost along with localised fog patches. The fog will gradually clear to give a fine, sunny afternoon.
  • Temperature 1-3.C.
  • Wind north-northeast 4-8mph.

Temperatures are expected to creep up towards the end of the weekend, into next week, with a high of 13.C forecast for Monday.
