Police were called to Newport yesterday (Monday) after reports of a fight in the street.
The fracas, which took place on Hunnyhill, led to a 19-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of common assault and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
Emergency services had received the call just before 3.40pm after members of the public became concerned by the disturbance.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
"Officers attended Hunnyhill after reports of an altercation in the street.
"A 19-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
"He has been released with no further action on those matters.
"A postal requisition will be issued in relation to driving without insurance."
