It’s also alleged that a man in his 30s was hit in the chest during this incident.

Following enquiries, a 16-year-old girl from Newport has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and assault by beating, and a 15-year-old girl from Binstead has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

They were remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Youth Court this morning (Thursday May 11).

At the hearing, they were bailed with conditions and will appear at the same court again on June 7.
