Stamp Of Approval — Tattoo Convention Heading To Quay Arts This Weekend

The Isle of Wight's first official tattoo convention in around a decade is heading to Newport's Quay Arts this weekend.

Organised by Filip Pasieka and Tom Wharton, the two-day event will take place between 11am and 9pm on both days.

In addition to Tom's Newport based Boy Wonder Tattoos, the Island will be represented by The Alchemy Club in Cowes and Newport's Raven Skin.

Mainland artists appearing on the day are Dave Carson (Sacred Heart), Gray Silva (Rampant Ink), Evil Chef (Black Forest Tattoo) and Charlie Davis from (Jason Davis Tattoo).

Filip, who works at Boy Wonder Tattoos in addition to running Opium Tattoo Gallery in Surrey, said:

"I moved here around two years ago and split my time between Surrey and the Island.

"I had the idea of organising a convention as soon as I arrived, but didn’t know anyone at the time who could help make it a reality.

"Tom and I decided to join forces and put one together after working together and we're delighted to be welcoming so many amazing artists to the Quay Arts this weekend!"

The convention will include live music, live tattooing, artist walk-ins, trade stalls and tattoo competitions at the end of each day.

Tickets can be purchased on the Eventbrite website.
