Flood warnings are in place for several parts of the Isle of Wight this morning (Monday).
The Environment Agency has issued warnings for the following areas:
- Whitwell
- Wroxall
- Langbridge
- Alverstone on the Eastern Yar
- Sandown, Brading and Bembridge on the Eastern Yar
- Lukely Brook from Carisbrooke to Newport
- Western Yar through Freshwater
- Monktonmead Brook at St Johns Road
- St John's Station (Ryde)
- Park Road
- River Medina from Blackwater to Newport
Residents are being asked to monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
Flood warnings with potential for property flooding are in the following areas:
- Carisbrooke
- Hunnyhill
- Lukely Brook
- Langbridge
- Alverstone
Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
So far this month there has been 124.2mm of rain recorded for the Island, more than three times the amount for the whole of January 2022 (40.6mm).
