Sandown Sprint Entries 'Practically Full' As Event Gears Up For Return

John Peck Sandown Sprint (C).

Entries to next year's Sandown Sprint are practically full, organisers say, with more than 90 cars revving up their engines, ready to take part.

The event, which is being held on Culver Parade and is sponsored by Island Car Centre, is taking place in March.

Malcolm Smith, Chairman at the Isle of Wight Car Club, said:

“We’ve had a very fast take up of entries since Friday, with many cars returning after the first event held in April.

"There’s also more Island drivers taking part in 2023 which is great news."

Race organisation for the sprint will once again be undertaken by the Island club.

Among those coming back will be the fastest man around the track, Damian Bradley.

Overall winner Will Nicholls will also return.

He said:

“The first Sandown Sprint was a lot of fun for the drivers and hopefully for the spectators.

"I was pushed really hard for top spot in 2022 and if anything I’m expecting the competition to be hotter next year.”

Spectator tickets will again be limited, but these are now available to purchase online.

Adult admission is just £10, with children 11 years and under admitted free of charge.
