At least one pedestrian has been seriously injured in an incident in Newport today (Friday).
Police and paramedics are on scene at the crossing at Church Litten, between Marks and Spencer and Morrisons.
The road has been cordoned off.
Drivers are being diverted to Coppins Bridge and then into town, or via Medina Avenue.
There is currently no access to Marks and Spencer or Morrisons.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been called to the scene.
