Isle of Wight restaurants, cafes and shops received some extra festive cheer over Christmas as they were awarded positive food hygiene ratings.
The latest rankings, issued in November and December, have recently been released and showcase the best and the worst food hygiene standards across the Island.
Isle of Wight Council environmental health inspectors visit food-producing and selling businesses, seeing how they match up to government-set standards.
They are rated on a scale, produced by the Foods Standards Agency, ranging from 0 (Urgent Improvement Necessary) to 5 (Very Good).
They are judged on how clean the establishment is, what conditions are like, how hygienic the food handling is and the food safety management procedures in place.
Here’s the scores on the doors for the latest round of businesses to be inspected.
