Porchfield Cricket Club To Host Presidents' Day In Aid Of Mental Health Charity

Porchfield Cricket Club is hosting a special Presidents' Day cricket match today (Saturday) to raise money for an important mental health charity.

The match, at Colemans Lane, will feature a Porchfield team v President's Xl team, comprising former Porchfield players.

The event is being held in aid of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), which runs a free, confidential and anonymous helpline as well as a web chat service, offering help, advice and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis.

Umpires will be Club Chairman, Pete Skinner and former Porchfield player, Graham Holder.

The two mates recently undertook a charity walk from Villa Park in Birmingham to Sheffield, to raise money for CALM, in memory of Graham's late son, Jack, who committed suicide in 2018.

There will be a chance to buy raffle tickets during the game, with proceeds going to CALM.

The match starts at 1.30pm and should finish around 6.30pm.

Anyone is welcome to attend the match on Saturday.
