Niton Garden Party Will Raise Funds For Local Youth Charity This Weekend

A garden party — complete with cream teas and cakes — will be held in Niton this weekend to raise funds for South Wight Area Youth.

South Wight Area Youth (SWAY) aims to bring young people together in social groups and volunteering opportunities within their communities.

Everyone's welcome to attend this Sunday (21), at Bevois Farm, Laceys Lane, from noon until 4pm.

Councillor Claire Critchison said:

"There will be young people helping and representatives of SWAY at the event to tell you more about their projects.

"Or just come and enjoy the view and refreshments!"

Councillor Critchison announced SWAY as her chosen charity for the coming year after being elected chairman at the annual meeting of the Isle of Wight Council in May.

SWAY runs regular meet-ups during the week, activities in the school holidays, residential trips and other special events.

The charity is currently in the final stages of fundraising to build a community hub in Chale, providing a shop, cafe and meeting rooms for the benefit of the local area.
