Next Chief Constable Sought For Hampshire And Isle Of Wight As Recruitment Opens

The search for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary’s next chief constable is underway.

Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones is seeking an ambitious, straight talking, strategic leader to be the new chief constable for the region.

Recruitment for the post opens today (Wednesday).

It comes following the announcement of Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney’s departure after 31 years in policing, spending the last seven years leading Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary.

PCC Donna Jones said:

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Olivia and we will continue to work closely until her last day in spring 2023.

“This timeline provides me with the opportunity for a well-planned transition and recruitment process to ensure I can hire the best person for the job.

“As your Police and Crime Commissioner, I have the responsibility to find the next chief and to achieve this I am looking for an ambitious leader to share my vision for safer communities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for years to come."

Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the role, which opens on September 7.
