A Newport supermarket has been evacuated this afternoon (Tuesday) as a result of a gas leak from a fridge.
Firefighters left the scene at Morrisons on South Street a short time ago.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service said:
"One crew from Newport were called to a supermarket on South Street after a refrigerator began leaking gas.
"The store was evacuated and the leak ceased, with firefighters using ventilation fans to clear gas.
"HIWFRS left the scene at 16:40."
