A 40-year-old Newport man has been arrested on suspicion of assault today (Friday).
Officers were called just after 11am to reports of a disturbance inside an address on Hunnyhill.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
"A 40-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
"He remains in custody at this time."
