Mental Health And Wellbeing Support Available To Islanders

Today (Monday) marks World Mental Health Day, with a world focus on wellbeing for all a global priority.

With so much uncertainty in the air and people feeling the pinch of the cost-of-living crisis, more are likely to experience poor mental health with increased stress, anxiety and depression.

A recent report showed that three in four adults reported feeling very or somewhat worried about the rising costs of living.

Pete Bullard, Clinical Lead for Isle Talk Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Services, said:

“World Mental Health Day recognises the importance of breaking down stigmas and barriers that prevent people accessing mental health support.

“With so many people facing uncertainty, it is incredibly important for those struggling with their mental health to feel free to come forward to get the right support to meet their needs.

“We urge anyone who needs help to get in touch with our Isle Talk IAPT team for mental health and wellbeing support.”

The IAPT service tailors its services to meet the needs of individuals and offers a range of therapy options, including group workshops, individual face-to-face and online therapy sessions.

More details on the service and how it can be contacted is available online.

This service is available to people living on the Isle of Wight, aged 16 years old and over.

You do not need a GP referral to access IAPT services, you can self-refer to Isle Talk IAPT by calling 532860.

You will then be booked in for a telephone assessment, and then provided with the appropriate support to meet your needs.
