Maternity Services On Isle Of Wight Acknowledged With National Award

Maternity services on the Isle of Wight have scooped an award at a national nursing event.

They received the Outstanding Contribution to Partnership and Leadership gong at the Royal College of Midwives award ceremony on Friday May 19.

The event was represented by midwifery teams across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and was an opportunity to share learning in relation to perinatal safety and to award individuals and teams for their contribution to this.

'Perinatal' is the period from the start of a pregnancy up to roughly one year after giving birth.

Margaret Beattie, Associate Director Maternity & Early Years for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board said:

“I am bursting with pride, our Local Maternity and Neonatal System team and I feel incredibly grateful to work with these colleagues every day.

"To see our teams acknowledged for their work in digital, education, equity, quality improvement, safety & quality and partnership working is incredible.

“This is testament to the passion of our teams to improve care and experience for women, people and families who use our services during times which have been challenging for maternity services. “
