Man Charged After Gold Necklaces Stolen From Shanklin Jewellers

A man has been charged after gold necklaces worth almost £3,000 were stolen from a jewellers in Shanklin.

 

Police were called to Regent Street on June 1, after £2,800 worth of items were taken, after a man had asked to view them.

On Wednesday (13), a 43 year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested as part of a police investigation.

Anthony Martin, of Beach Road in Southsea, was subsequently charged with theft.

He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Thursday where he admitted the theft.

He has been released on conditional bail to appear at the same court on September 6 for sentencing.
