Drivers are facing long diversions as Brading High Street is set to close overnight for two weeks.
From 6.30pm tonight (Tuesday), the whole of the High Street will be shut for utility works. The road will reopen each day at 6am.
The works are scheduled to be finished by February 15, according to the Isle of Wight Council.
Diversions will be in place via Bembridge and St Helens, or across the Downs to Ashey.
Southern Vectis routes 2 and 3 are affected by the closures.
