Isle Of Wight Temperatures Set To hit 30.C As Heatwave Arrives

The Isle of Wight looks set to bask in hot weather and high temperatures in the coming days.

Things look set to become warmer as we move through this week and next - according to the IW Met Service.

The forecaster said that as we move into the weekend and beyond, the temperatures are set to really take a sharp turn upwards, with some places in excess of 30.C, along with plenty of sunshine developing. Beyond this there is some divergence in the weather models, but it seems likely that the dry weather will continue along with very high temperatures at times.

IW Met Service Forecast

Tomorrow (Wednesday) looks set to be a rather cloudy day, and even though it should feel fairly pleasant at times out of the breeze and in any brightness, the breeze will make it feel quite cool, especially in the west and south of the Island. Temperature 21-23.C in a moderate northwesterly becoming southwesterly breeze.

Thursday will see more in the way of sunshine developing, and even though there will still be a fair amount of cloud drifting around it will begin to feel much warmer, despite the breeze. Temperature 23-25.C in a moderate to fresh northerly breeze

Friday will be another fine, dry day with occasional sunshine but also a fair amount of cloud drfiting about once again, perhaps a little more than we saw on Thursday. But despite the increase in cloud, the temperatures will still be slowly creeping upwards. Temperature 25-27.C in a light to moderate northerly breeze.

Saturday will be another very warm day with sunny spells across the island. It will begin to feel rather hot in places due to the light winds, however cooling sea breezes are expected around the coasts.Temperature 26-28.C in a light to moderate northenly breeze.

Sunday will be very warm with long sunny spells. It will be cooler around the coasts as sea breezes will develop here, but inland it will feel very warm or even hot at times. Temperature 26-28.C in a light becoming moderate south to southwesterly breeze.

Outlook for next week

The IW Met Service added:

"High pressure looks like remaining in charge, this means that we will see very warm, dry weather across the island with temperatures reaching the high 20s or even low 30s celsius at times. There are even hints from a couple of weather models that temperatures could perhaps reach the mid 30s celsius in some parts, but this is rather uncertain at the moment.

"So to summarise, it looks like being a very prolonged spell of warm and dry weather with no clearly defined end in sight."
