Isle Of Wight Children Invited To Newport Roman Villa For Half Term Activities

Isle of Wight children are being invited to make their own pop-up sea monster puppets at Newport Roman Villa during the school holidays.

The museum, in Cypress Road, is inviting people of all ages to find out more about Roman monsters and mythical creatures as they explore the remains and complete the monster trail.

The villa will be open on Wednesday, 26 October and Friday 28 October, from 10am until 2.30pm. Entry, including all the activities, is just £1 per person. Booking is not required.

Numbers may be limited at busy times, but a sea monster kit will be provided for families to complete at home.

The villa itself will be open to explore on these special days, with incredible Roman remains, artefacts and a replica Roman garden.

The event has been organised by the Isle of Wight Heritage Service and for more information, call (01983) 823433 or visit www.iwight.com/museums
