Island School Leavers Invited To HTP Apprenticeship College Careers Night

Island young people can get clear, impartial and informed advice this Tuesday (20th June) at the specialist centre's latest careers event. The session runs from 4pm to 6pm at HTP’s Riverbank Campus at Little London in Newport.

The tutors at HTP can offer advice on great careers and training course options in areas including:

Business Administration, Professional Cookery, Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Tourism, Sport & Fitness Instructing, Childcare & Education, Nail Technology, Horse Care & Riding, Customer Service, Teaching, Marketing & Digital.

HTP provides completely independent advice, and event orangisers say, if they can’t offer a training programme directly, they will signpost you to other providers or sources of information.

Rated Good by Ofsted, HTP Apprenticeship College has been helping school leavers get on the career ladder for more than 20 years. With strong, well-established links with Island employers.

HTP’s founder Rachael Randall said:

“Apprenticeships have long been acknowledged as a very effective alternative to university for school leavers,

“As well as providing a direct route to employment, an Apprenticeship provides you with a salary and you won’t end up having to pay any tuition fees. This September the loan system will change for students who go to university, meaning repayments will start sooner, and at a lower threshold, and be repayable for longer. Young people can avoid all of that, and start work with a qualification and without debt, by becoming an apprentice instead of going to university.”

Rachael added:

“Our expert staff can help you get you started in your chosen career, and if you don’t know what you want to do when you leave school, we can help too,”.

“The wide range of options can seem confusing, for young people and their families, but we can help you to choose what’s best for you. Our wide range of one-year courses begin in September or you can start earning as an Apprentice any time. Get the answers to your careers questions this Tuesday with HTP.”
