Island Computer Systems Says Goodbye After 43 Years Of Serving Isle Of Wight

After 43 years of proudly serving the Isle of Wight, Island Computer Systems Ltd (ICS), the popular local computer store, has made the difficult decision to close its physical doors.

The company says the decision comes as a result of evolving market trends and the increasing shift towards online commerce.

The doors will close at 4pm next Friday (November 24) as the company takes its final bow at Horsebridge Hill.

Since 1980, ICS has been a cornerstone for technology enthusiasts, providing a wide range of hardware, software, and expert advice.

A spokesperson for the company said:

"The decision to close the physical store is not taken lightly, and we express our gratitude to the loyal customers who have supported us throughout the years.

"While the storefront may be closing, we are excited to announce we will continue to thrive in the marine and engineering analysis software realm as a Bentley Systems Authorised Channel Partner."

From Saturday November 25, ICS will exclusively operate online, offering Maxsurf naval architecture, Multiframe structural software, MicroStation CAD and training.

Existing PC customers, including Microsoft 365 subscribers that require ongoing support, are being asked to contact Danny at Island PC Services on 526006 or email: [email protected].

Farewell sale

To celebrate the legacy of ICS, there will be a farewell sale starting today (November 15).

This will be an opportunity for customers to snag incredible deals on the company's remaining physical inventory.

An emotional spokesperson for ICS concluded:

"As we embark on this new chapter, we look forward to continuing our journey online.

"Stay tuned for exciting developments as we embrace the future of technology retail."
