Free Expert Bill Reduction Advice For Islanders Thanks To New SSEN Partnership

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Distribution is partnering with YES Energy Solutions and providing free advice designed to help customers reduce their energy bills over the winter.

The YES Advice Line is available to customers across the distribution network operator’s central southern England patch and aims to assist households in lowering their energy bills and preparing their homes for the colder months.

Customers registering for support through SSEN will be contacted by YES Energy Solutions. Through a series of simple questions to understand where support is needed – and taking individual circumstances into account - YES’ expert advisors can then offer free and impartial advice.

Householders can choose the level of service that suits them, including support with applications to funding for home energy improvements, advice on benefit entitlement, and help with new green technologies that can save money in the long term.

SSEN’s Customer Vulnerability and Communities Lead, Emma Merritt said:

“By working together, SSEN and YES Energy Solutions can bring the right information and advice to customers who are looking to bring down their energy bills and we can even help change the way they heat their homes, by bringing low carbon technologies into consideration.

“Our customers are at the heart of all we do and every support service we offer them is designed to bring peace of mind and better living circumstances to as many people as possible.”

Emma continued:

“I’d encourage our customers across central southern England to explore how SSEN and YES Energy Solutions can assist them, by making a simple, free call that could make such a positive difference this winter.”

Over 500 people a month call the YES Advice Line for assistance with saving energy and making bills more affordable. Last winter, 1,700 SSEN customers received help from the YES Advice Line, with the advice proving the means to save over £900,000 on their annual energy bills.

YES’ Energy advice centre manager, Laura Winning said:

“We are thrilled to be working with a number of partners on this initiative who are funding the service to help people save money.

“The service not only prepares them for this winter but will provide guidance on changes people can make year on year.”

Those interested in the YES Advice Line can call 03301 359 110 and claim their free energy saving pack. Each new customer receives a free energy saving pack filled with gadgets and tips that help reduce energy use in the home without compromising on warmth.
