The fate of parking restrictions on two roads in an Isle of Wight town could be decided next week.
It follows further investigations into the restrictions in Ventnor after the initial decision was delayed in February.
It was proposed parking restrictions would be introduced on part of Albert Street and Park Avenue but numerous strong objections halted the final go-ahead.
They could now be approved, introducing a loading-only and limited-waiting place and double yellow lines.
The cabinet member for highways and infrastructure Cllr Phil Jordan, will make a decision on May 9.
On Albert Street, it is still proposed to introduce a two-hour loading-only restriction, followed by a limited one-hour waiting period between 10am and 6pm during the summer season.
The council says it has been requested by the nearby Ventnor Medical Practice so their delivery vehicles can park close by.
There were nearly 50 objections against this proposal when it was first introduced, with 23 in favour.
Double yellow lines are proposed on Park Avenue, over the entrance to Fernleigh Apartments, to save it from being obstructed.
The council’s aim, it says, is to increase visibility and improve safety by removing parking close to the entrance.
It would also create a passing point and improve the traffic flow, it said.
Overall, the authority received 52 objections over the proposals but 31 in favour.
Among concerns were the loss of on-street parking but the authority says priority has been given to road safety and the movement of traffic over the preservation of parking spaces.
It says the extent of restrictions was kept to a minimum to keep as much parking as possible.
