Fallen Oak Tree Causing Major Delays And Diversions In Ryde

A fallen oak tree is this afternoon (Friday) causing major issues for drivers heading between Wootton and Ryde.

The tree is thought to have fallen on Quarr Road shortly before 2pm, with buses having to drive across the grass verges to continue on their route.

This, along with a number of standard vehicles doing the same thing, has reportedly made it more difficult to pass.

The tree is lying near to the entrance of a house, a short distance from the entrance of Quarr Abbey.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area until further notice.

We have contacted the emergency services for more information.
