Event Success For St Catherine’s Christmas Market

St Catherine’s Church in Ventnor raised more than £1,800 at its annual Christmas Fundraising Market this month.

With over 30 sellers, the event, which was held at St Catherine’s Church was a great chance to come along and support small businesses.

There was something for everyone with live entertainment, a visit from Captain America and his friends thanks to Jaren Bathrooms and the Isle of Wight Storytellers with their version of the 12 days of Christmas.

The Church Cafe kept visitors refreshed with hot drinks, while raising funds for the warm spaces lunches.

The finale for the day was the Grand Raffle with over 50 prizes up for grabs.

The market was held as part of Ventnor’s Christmas Celebrations, which also included a Lantern Parade, a Santa’s Grotto and Carols at Ventnor Park.

Tanya Smith, St Catherine’s Fundraising and Marketing Assistant, said:

"This is our second Christmas Fair and the support from businesses and local people has been amazing.

"We would like to thank everyone who has donated a prize, bought a ticket or visited the market to help raise funds for our work with students with speech, language and communications needs.

"We can’t wait to start planning next year’s event”.
