Cowes Lifeboat Rescues Injured Woman From Motorcruiser

A woman injured in a fall on board a boat in the River Medina has been taken to hospital, after being rescued by Cowes RNLI.

The woman apparently sustained bruising and swelling when falling down the engine hatch of a 36-foot motorcruiser, moored to an off-shore pontoon at The Folly.

Someone on board then contacted Solent Coastguard for assistance.

After the lifeboat crew assessed the casualty on the scene, she was conveyed by rescuers to Trinity Landing off Cowes, where an ambulance was waiting to take her to St Mary's Hospital.

The lifeboat, which launched at 3.54pm, returned to station at 5pm.
