Controversy As Council Introduces Parking Fees At East Cowes Car Park

Parking fees will be re-introduced at a popular East Cowes car park in the new year as the council looks to generate extra income.

Charges will come into effect at Maresfield Road Car Park from January. It follows a decision made by the council's cabinet earlier this year.

Between 8am and 6pm the new parking fees will be:

  • up to 1 hour - £1.70
  • 1 to 2 hours - £2.90 
  • 2 to 4 hours - £4.80
  • 4 to 6 hours - £6.20
  • 6 to 10 hours - £9.00

Evenings:

  • 1 November to 31 March, between 6pm and 8am - £1.00 per visit
  • 1 April to 31 October, between 6pm and 8am - £2.00 per visit

Maresfield Road car park is ‘cashless’. Parking fees are payable by using credit or debit card and a free app is available by the PayByPhone website, alternatively call 0330 400 7275 to pay over the phone.

The location ID for Maresfield Road is 84029.

All Island car parking permits will be valid at Maresfield Road.
