An Isle of Wight journalist has handed over two cheques for hundreds of pounds to St Mary's Hospital, from the sales of his new book.
Peter White has penned memoirs of interviews he's conducted with famous faces into his book, 'I'm Glad I Did'.
Peter has interviewed footballers, film stars, actors, comedians, pop icons and others since moving to the Island in 1999 – having previously lived and worked in Birmingham, where he was a sports reporter for several national newspapers. He covered top flight football for 39 seasons, in the Midlands with Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolves, WBA and Coventry City and then on the south coast with Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth.
On the Island, Peter was the editor for lifestyle magazines The Beacon and Island Life.
His book covers a wide range of stories and tales, though, with personalities including Chris Kamara, Harry Redknapp, Brian Little, Linford Christie, Celia Imrie and Princess Anne.
So far, the not-for-profit venture has helped raise more than £500 for the two vital hospital departments, through sales and donations.
Peter said:
"I went along to meet the breast care and chemotherapy nurses at the local hospital to hand over money you have raised by buying my book or making a donation. They asked me to thank every one of you who has already helped them.
"Natasha, who is head of the Chemotherapy Unit, said the money would be used to buy wigs for ladies who lose their hair during treatment.
"Heather, from the Applegate Breast Care Unit, said the money would buy specially adapted bras for ladies who've had a mastectomy."

The units at St Mary's are close to Peter's heart, as he explained:
"My wife, Trish, died in 2011, aged just 53, following a long battle with the disease, and I have never forgotten the kindness and compassion shown by the nurses and staff in the Chemotherapy Unit and in the Breast Care Nurses Trust.
"A donation from every book sold, is being made.”
