A community clubhouse on the Isle of Wight has been targeted by young vandals who sprayed offensive graffiti, including swastikas, across the building and a nearby public defibrillator.

Images shared locally - which can be seen unedited on the Shanklin Football Club Facebook page - show extensive spray paint damage across the site.

The act has been described as “mindless” and “deeply disrespectful,” particularly as the defibrillator is a life-saving piece of equipment available for anyone in an emergency.

Those responsible were caught on CCTV, with footage now passed to police as part of an investigation.

The club is appealing to the public for any information that may help identify those involved and is also hoping parents may recognise the individuals and encourage them to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police using 101, quoting the relevant reference number if provided, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

The community is also being encouraged to respect public spaces and equipment designed to help others, especially life-saving devices such as defibrillators.
