CCTV Images Issued After Ryde Supermarket Theft

Police have released CCTV images of two women they want to speak to following a shoplifting incident at a supermarket in Ryde.

More than £260 worth of groceries were stolen from Tesco Extra on Brading Road at around 18:00 on Saturday 22 August.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is asking anyone who recognises the women pictured, or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, to come forward.

The first woman is described as white and in her early 40s. She has blonde hair and was wearing a denim jacket, glasses and white shorts with black stripes, and was carrying a black bag.

The second woman is described as white and in her late 20s or early 30s. She has blonde hair with brown roots and was wearing a blue crop top, black shorts and sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference 44260352966.

Information can also be submitted online through Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary's website.

Police are reminding businesses to make sure CCTV and security equipment are working properly and that suspicious activity is reported and recorded.

Shoplifting incidents should be reported to police on 101, while crimes in progress should be reported by calling 999.
