Coastal Path Improvements Planned Between Bouldnor And Yarmouth

Improvements to a section of the King Charles III England Coast Path between Bouldnor and Yarmouth are set to make the route safer and more accessible.

The Isle of Wight Council has appointed MCM Construction to carry out the work, which is due to take place from 7 September until 9 October.

The project will see the popular coastal route widened and upgraded, with improvements to the path surface and the removal of overgrown vegetation.

Vegetation will be cleared along the existing route to restore its full width and improve visibility for walkers.

Sections of the path will also receive a new, more durable surface, designed to provide a safer and more accessible route for residents and visitors.

Access between Bouldnor Viewpoint and the seafront will be improved, while new wayfinding measures will be installed to help guide walkers along the route.

Bouldnor Viewpoint car park will be temporarily closed throughout the works and used as a site compound.

Part of the esplanade will also be closed while construction vehicles and equipment are in operation.

The council says the work has been scheduled after the summer holiday period to minimise disruption.

Darrel Clarke, the council's Rights of Way Manager, said the improvements would make the route "safer, more accessible and easier to enjoy".

He thanked residents and visitors for their patience while the work is carried out, saying the investment would help ensure the coastal route can be enjoyed for years to come.
