A group of Isle of Wight students have been recognised by councillors after their Island-inspired board game earned national success through the Young Enterprise competition.
Boundless Wight, a student company from The Island VI Form, was welcomed to County Hall this week following a remarkable year that saw the team reach the Young Enterprise UK National Final in Cardiff.
The young entrepreneurs developed Walk the Wight: The Board Game, which celebrates the Isle of Wight's towns, landmarks and attractions while supporting local businesses and charities.
The team finished among the top 12 student businesses in the UK after progressing from more than 1,000 teams nationwide.
At the national final, Boundless Wight achieved the highest sales income of all the finalists and received the Delta Air Lines Pursuit of Opportunity Award. Team member Sophie Sanders, the company's Vice Chief Executive, also won the "You're Hired" Medal for her outstanding performance.
The company's commitment to the local community extends beyond the game itself. Its playing pieces are made on the Isle of Wight using recycled plastic, while a donation from every game sold is made to Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
The team is made up of Sebastian Flower, Sophie Sanders, Louie Wakefield, Conor Dean, Isaac Millington, Kinga Kurowska, Liv Adraienssens and Harry Shand.
Boundless Wight has also built a strong following on social media and recently celebrated reaching 100 pre-orders, capping off a hugely successful year for one of the Island's most successful Young Enterprise teams.
