Young rugby players have been given the chance to learn from some of the sport’s top talent at a special youth camp hosted by Vectis RFC.

Ten boys and girls took part in the two-day event at the Isle of Wight RFC clubhouse, with Premiership player and former England U20 international Amy Dale leading skills sessions and drills.

Dale, who is also an ambassador for Vectis RFC, shared her experience of playing at the highest level of the women’s game.

The youngsters also received a surprise virtual Q&A with Premiership player and current Red Roses international Millie Hyett.

Meanwhile, Vectis RFC’s new season gets underway this Sunday (6 September) at the Isle of Wight RFC grounds at Wootton Bridge Recreation Ground.

The first session starts at 9.30am, although players should check with their age group for specific times.

New and returning players are welcome, with opportunities to train, compete in tournaments and festivals, and make new friends.

For information about joining Vectis RFC, fixtures or sponsorship, contact the club.
