This past weekend saw Romford's Will Ospreay christened the first Englishman to win a world championship in either of wrestling's two biggest American promotions – as almost 48,000 fans witnessed an unforgettable night at Wembley Stadium.
History was made on Sunday night as Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega in an extraordinary main event to become AEW World Champion.
British legends including The British Bulldog, William Regal and The Dynamite Kid blazed a trail for generations of wrestlers from these shores, while current WWE General Manager Nick Aldis came tantalisingly close to the same level of recognition during a career that saw him hold both the NWA and TNA World Championships.

The match truly came alive when the huge Wembley crowd welcomed the debuting New Level, with Kofi and Austin Creed making an immediate impact.
Their arrival provided one of the loudest reactions of the early evening and, alongside Swerve Strickland, they fought their way through the chaos to capture the AEW Trios Championships.
Result: Swerve Strickland & The New Level won the AEW Trios Titles, last eliminating The Death Riders.
Highlight: The AEW debut of Kofi and Austin Creed sent Wembley into ecstasy and immediately added enormous intrigue to AEW's tag and trios divisions.
🏆 The Brawling Birds vs Divine Dominion – AEW Women's Tag Team Titles

Another huge success story for English wrestling unfolded as Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor became the new AEW Women's Tag Team Champions.
The Brawling Birds were never going to have an easy night against the imposing Divine Dominion pairing of Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, but Hayter and Windsor produced a physical, hard-hitting contest worthy of the Wembley stage.
Hayter, who has continued to blaze a trail for female wrestlers from the South of England, received a tremendous response from the British crowd as she and Windsor battled their way towards a memorable title victory.
The finishing sequence was particularly impressive, with The Brawling Birds' devastating teamwork finally proving too much for the champions.
Result: Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor defeated Divine Dominion to become the new AEW Women's Tag Team Champions.

🏆 Jon Moxley vs Nigel McGuinness – Continental Cup Final

This was an emotional homecoming for Nigel McGuinness.
Thirteen years after the release of The Last of McGuinness appeared to suggest that his wrestling career may have reached its conclusion, McGuinness found himself competing on one of professional wrestling's biggest stages in front of family, friends and a passionate home crowd.
With Wembley desperate for him to win, every near fall and submission attempt drew an enormous reaction as McGuinness pushed Jon Moxley to the limit in a tense, physical battle.
The final struggle for the ropes was particularly dramatic, with McGuinness coming agonisingly close to salvation before finally being forced to submit.
Despite the result, the reception he received afterwards made it clear that this was a hugely significant moment in his remarkable career.
Result: Jon Moxley defeated Nigel McGuinness to win the Continental Cup and retain the AEW Continental Championship.

Three of the best wrestlers on the planet. One championship. Complete chaos.
Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita produced one of the matches of the night in a breathtaking triple-threat encounter.
The pace was relentless, the counters were extraordinary and every competitor emerged looking like a genuine superstar.
Okada ultimately seized his opportunity to capture the International Championship, but the fallout between Fletcher and the wider Callis Family could prove just as fascinating as the match itself.
Result: Kazuchika Okada defeated Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita to win the AEW International Championship.
Highlight: Okada's world-class performance – from his remarkable in-ring timing to the nuance of his facial expressions – was another reminder of why he remains one of the very best in the business.
🎰 Casino Gauntlet – For A Future AEW World Title Match

Pure fun from start to finish.
The Casino Gauntlet brought unpredictability, comedy, surprise appearances and spectacular action, with the lack of a traditional countdown making every new arrival feel even more unpredictable.
Chris Jericho's entrance produced one of the loudest singalongs of the entire night, while the confusion surrounding Justin Roberts' announcements created an unintentionally hilarious sequence that the Wembley crowd thoroughly embraced.
In the end, Andrade El Idolo outlasted a star-studded field to secure a future AEW World Championship opportunity.
Result: Andrade El Idolo won the Casino Gauntlet after pinning Nick Wayne.
Highlight: The entire stadium joining together to sing Chris Jericho's Judas created an incredible wall of sound around Wembley.
🏆 Cage & Cope vs The Young Bucks – AEW Tag Team Titles

A superb tag team encounter which delivered exactly what Wembley wanted.
Cage & Cope and The Young Bucks combined experience, athleticism and excellent storytelling in one of the strongest matches of the night.
The contest featured several moments where victory appeared to be within reach for either team, keeping the crowd guessing until the closing stages.
But perhaps the biggest moment came afterwards.
With The Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, The Young Bucks and The New Level all confronting the champions, Wembley was treated to an incredible glimpse at just how stacked AEW's tag team division has become.
The resulting chants of “Tag Team Wrestling” said it all.
Result: Cage & Cope defeated The Young Bucks to retain the AEW Tag Team Championships.
Highlight: The extraordinary post-match face-off between AEW's leading tag teams offered an exciting glimpse into what could be ahead for the division.
🏆 Kevin Knight vs Darby Allin – Falls Count Anywhere For The TNT Title

Darby Allin may technically have won this match.
But surviving might be the more appropriate description.
The Falls Count Anywhere encounter delivered the kind of spectacular, seemingly impossible moments that have made Allin one of AEW's most fearless performers.
The arrival of Sting generated a huge ovation, while the appearance of his son Steven Borden created a genuinely memorable passing-of-the-torch moment.
Then came the Coffin Drop.
Allin climbed high into the steel framework surrounding the entranceway before launching himself into the unknown in one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the night.
Result: Darby Allin defeated Kevin Knight to win the TNT Championship.
Highlight: Allin's astonishing Coffin Drop from the steel structure was another extraordinary example of his willingness to put absolutely everything on the line.
🏆 Willow Nightingale vs Mercedes Moné – AEW Women's World Title

A passionate Wembley crowd was firmly behind Willow Nightingale as she defended against the relentless Mercedes Moné.
The match was packed with emotion and physicality, with Nightingale continuing to fight despite the damage to her hand and Moné suffering a broken nose during the contest.
The bloodied Moné used the setback to add another layer of intensity to her performance before eventually finding a way to capture the one major AEW championship that had previously eluded her.
Result: Mercedes Moné defeated Willow Nightingale to become the new AEW Women's World Champion.

Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega produced the match of a lifetime to bring AEW All In: London to a close.
From Ospreay's emotional entrance – featuring friends, rivals and his wife Alex Windsor – to the final, decisive Hidden Blade, the main event felt enormous from beginning to end.
The two superstars threw everything imaginable at each other.
Omega's One-Winged Angel.
Ospreay's Storm Breaker.
The Hidden Blade.
The Tiger Driver.
Neither man appeared willing to stay down.
By the closing stages, both wrestlers were bloodied and exhausted, while Wembley had become completely consumed by the drama unfolding in front of them.
When Ospreay finally connected with one final Hidden Blade and secured the three-count, the reaction was overwhelming.
The Romford-born star had done it.

Isle Of Wight Wrestler Ecstatic After Meeting Heroes At All In
One of the Isle of Wight's most promising young professional wrestlers also enjoyed a weekend he will never forget at AEW All In.
Outcast Pro wrestler Billy Ransom attended the Wembley event and had the opportunity to meet one of his personal wrestling heroes, Charles Crowley, as well as So Cal Val and the newly debuted New Level.
Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, Billy said meeting Crowley was particularly significant as he continues to develop his own career on the independent wrestling scene.
He said:
“Charles Crowley is someone I've followed and looked up to throughout my own journey in professional wrestling.
"There are certain people you watch and think, ‘That's exactly the kind of wrestler I want to be’, and Charles has always been one of those people for me.
“His character work, promos and in-ring ability are genuinely something I believe should be studied in wrestling schools around the world.
“For someone coming from the Isle of Wight and trying to make a name for myself on the independent scene, getting to meet someone who has inspired me creatively was a pretty surreal moment.
“Going from watching his work as a fan to actually meeting him backstage at one of the biggest wrestling events in the world is something I'll definitely remember. Hopefully it won't be the last time our paths cross.”
AEW Is Coming Back To The UK – And Making History Again
There is already plenty for British wrestling fans to get excited about next year.
Less than 24 hours after the curtain came down on All In at Wembley Stadium, AEW announced a huge return to the UK in February 2027.
AEW Dynasty will take place at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena on Sunday 7 February, before AEW Dynamite heads to The O2 in London on Wednesday 10 February.
Both events will make history.
The Liverpool show will mark the first time AEW has ever held an event in the city, while Dynasty will become the first AEW UK pay-per-view to take place outside London.
Meanwhile, the London show will be another landmark occasion, with AEW Dynamite being held in the capital for the first time ever.
