Victorious Festival 2026 Hailed A Huge Success After Unforgettable Bank Holiday Weekend

More than 150,000 music fans descended on Southsea Common over the August Bank Holiday weekend as Victorious Festival delivered another spectacular three days of world-class live music, entertainment and family fun.
The hugely popular festival, which ran from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August, once again transformed the Southsea seafront into one of the biggest and most vibrant festival sites in the country.
And despite some unpredictable weather along the way, nothing appeared capable of dampening the atmosphere as enormous crowds packed the Common to enjoy a remarkable line-up of artists.
Friday night belonged to Richard Ashcroft, with the former Verve frontman bringing decades of unforgettable anthems to Southsea following his triumphant UK arena tour.
His set included the timeless Bittersweet Symphony, with thousands of festival-goers singing along in what proved to be one of many memorable moments across the weekend.
Saturday saw Grammy Award-winning American rock duo The Black Keys take to the main stage, delivering an electrifying headline performance packed with hits, including the unmistakable Lonely Boy.
Meanwhile, Kasabian brought the curtain down on the festival in spectacular style on Sunday evening, with an explosive closing set featuring favourites including Fire, You're in Love with a Psycho and Club Foot.
There were standout performances throughout the weekend, with Jessie J earning huge praise for a stunning vocal performance, including a memorable cover of Prince's Purple Rain.
Nile Rodgers & CHIC brought an irresistible party atmosphere to Southsea with a collection of disco and funk classics, while Scissor Sisters ensured Friday evening was packed with colour, energy and pop brilliance.
The Streets also delivered something particularly special, performing their acclaimed number-one album A Grand Don't Come for Free in full. Frontman Mike Skinner even headed into the crowd for the final three songs, much to the delight of fans.
Elsewhere, the packed line-up included performances from Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Bastille, Primal Scream, The Vaccines, James Arthur, Kelis, Pixie Lott, Hard-Fi and Happy Mondays.
The festival's sought-after afternoon slots were filled by Rudimental on Friday, Dizzee Rascal on Saturday and Sigrid on Sunday.
There was also a major moment for local music, with Road to Victorious 2026 competition winner Matt Hennessey taking to the Castle Stage on Saturday.
The performance brought his remarkable festival season to a triumphant conclusion following a series of major appearances awarded as part of the competition, which aims to support emerging artists and help develop the headliners of the future.
New for this year's festival was Little Johnny Russell's – an on-site recreation inspired by the legendary Portsmouth pub where Victorious first began.
The venue proved hugely popular across the weekend, packed with live performances, entertainment and plenty of unmistakable Pompey spirit.
Victorious was not just about the music, however (and not even just about the dinosaur hunters!)
Families were once again at the heart of the festival, with organisers offering what is described as the largest Kids Area of any UK festival.
Young festival-goers enjoyed appearances from Fireman Sam, Bluey and Supertato, alongside activities including the target-tag Blaster Battle Zone and professional wrestling from British Empire Wrestling.
With its spectacular seafront setting overlooking the Solent, enormous range of entertainment and a line-up packed with some of the biggest names in music, Victorious Festival once again proved why it has become one of the highlights of the summer.

Tickets for Victorious Festival 2027, which will take place from 27 to 29 August, are already on sale, with weekend tickets currently available online.
