St Catherine’s School in Ventnor has celebrated a hugely successful summer of fundraising, with a series of community events and challenges raising thousands of pounds.

The season began in June with the annual Summer Fair, held on the school field, which featured stalls run by students and staff. Supported by the Ventnor community, the event raised over £2,000.

Supporters then took to the skies with the Ethel Dares Wing Walk at Sandown Airport, flying aboard a classic Boeing Stearman Biplane. The challenge saw a team from Howdens Insurance alongside school supporters raise more than £8,000.

At the Lashings event at Ventnor Cricket Club, the fundraising team added a further £1,000 through raffle ticket sales. To round off the summer, 13 thrill-seekers completed a 12,000ft skydive at Sandown, boosting the total even further.

Plans are already underway for abseils, wing walks and skydives in 2026.
