Isle of Wight Police have recovered two stolen vehicles this week, which will be safely returned to their owners in time for Christmas.

Most recently, a silver VW Up, reported stolen from an address on Pier Street in Ventnor on 4 December, was found by officers in Pound Lane.

Police say it will now be returned to its rightful owner.

The force also reminded the public that Operation Limit is continuing until the end of December.

As part of the initiative, officers are carrying out drink and drug driving tests across the Island.

Last weekend, they stopped 60 drivers, all of whom tested negative.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

"We will continue to be out and about over the weekend carrying out more checks to keep our roads safe during the festive period."
