Pedestrian Taken To Hospital Following Collision In Ventnor High Street

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car in Ventnor High Street this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services were called to the incident at around 12:15 near the junction with Pier Street and Church Street, outside Boots.
Two ambulances, including a Critical Care Paramedic, and two police vehicles attended the scene, with Ventnor High Street temporarily closed while emergency crews responded.
The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to St Mary's Hospital for further treatment.
While the extent of her injuries has not been confirmed, it is understood they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police officers carried out enquiries in the area, including speaking to nearby witnesses, to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
All emergency services had left the scene by around 12:45, and Ventnor High Street has since reopened to traffic.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for further information.
