Man Dies After Fall From Window In Ryde

A man has died after falling from a first-floor window at a property in Ryde.

Emergency services were called to West Street at around 9.30pm on Friday, after reports that a man in his 50s had fallen and was seriously injured.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was sent to the scene and landed at nearby Simeon Recreation Ground.

Police also attended and closed part of West Street while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Despite efforts by medical teams, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The property was cordoned off while officers carried out initial enquiries.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the man's next of kin have been informed.

A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
