A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a collision in central Ryde, which led to a main through road being closed for a time yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency services were called just before 4:55pm to reports of a crash involving a Yamaha YZF 125 at the junction of Quarry Road and St John’s Road.
Due to the injuries sustained, police quickly set up cordons, with St John’s Road closed in both directions while crews dealt with the incident.
The motorcycle suffered front-end damage, with debris scattered across the pavement.
The rider was thrown to the ground during the collision.
The injured motorcyclist was taken to the Accident and Emergency department at St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Roads in the area subsequently reopened following a medical update from hospital staff.
